Does anyone here know if the newer Mamiya lenses, film backs and view finders can be used on the older RB67 bodies?
I just picked up an RB67 Pro and an RB67 Pro-S on ebay.
I'd like to get a few lenses (I have a 50mm and a 150 mm with the RB67 Pro) like the 127mm and the 250mm but I'm not sure if these lenses will work with the older bodies. I'd also like to get a couple of the motorized film backs (the new ones).
Any thoughts?

Howard

Your best bet is to go to a large camera store and see what works. If you're in New York, then there are lots of camera stores there. I sold my RB67 many years ago, so I have no first hand info now. But its my recollection that the later editions of the RB67 had electronic metering, etc, which may mean that the lens would need something different also to work properly.
Cheers,
rfs

You can go to the mamiya site and become a member with your serial number
http://www.mamiya.com/members_NEW.asp?id=1111
It is free if you have a serial number, then post a message on the user forum.
I have had a lot of good luck asking similar questions for my 645’s

I would take the advice of the other two and join their user group AND go to a NY camera store, but I have a feeling you're going to have a problem. I have an old RB67 sitting in a closet, but have a RZ67 that I use. I don't believe the 180mm lens I got with the RZ will work on the RB because the shutter speed control on the RZ (and the 180mm lens) is on the camera body, not the lens. I can use my old RB 127mm lens on the RZ, but not the other way around. BTW, I have some RB & RZ accessories I could sell you cheap. If you're interest I'll send you a list.

Regards,

I got an email from someone who suggested I call Mamiya.
Dummy me, I didin't even noticed the phone number on their website.
So, I called and spoke to a tech person and he tolm me all the lenses and accesories on the RB line will work with older models.
The new lenses (KL Lenses I think) will work on the older bodies, just have to remove the adapter ring.

Now the RZ lenses will not work on RB bodies but RB lenses will work on RZ bodies.

Andy, send me a list of items you want to sell for the RB.
You may have something I'd be interested in.

Thanks again everyone.
Howard

Hmmmm... I have one of those... I have the 127mm and 180mm lenses and a couple of backs. Took great pics for mny wedding, but I haven't used it since. If someone wants one, we might be able to work something out.
