OK...Here is the story. I am a career firefighter and paramedic. A partner of mine from the ambulance company that I used to work for knows of my photography hobby and has gone out of her way to help me out. Several years ago, I photographed her wedding and last summer photographed her sister's wedding. This friend has since invented a medical device that is to be featured in a medical supply catalog that is distributed throughout America and beyond. This friend of mine is to be on the cover of an upcoming catalog and she showed her wedding photos to the publisher who wants ME (a hobbiest) to shoot the photo for the cover. I have to contact the company this week and give them my price.

My question is this...What would a fair price be for the digital file to be used on this catalog cover? I will have almost no expenses and I have to travel only 3 minutes from my house for the shoot.

That's a good place to start right there. Just find out what the circulation of the magazine is and then find the suggested price.
