I posted this a 10 minutes ago, but dont see it anywhere...hopefully it doesnt double post.
Anyway, I got a deal on some profoto acute lights. Some of the heads say "ACUTE 2" and other says "ACUTE D4"
What is the difference between the 2, searched the web but nothing. The lights are VERY similar looking but I just want to know exactly what is the difference.
Thanks
Craig

Check over at Calumet's web site.

I have some Acute 2 stuff and the last time I was over their, I thought the "D4" stuff was a brand new system that used digital read out control of the power pack. It was some seriously pricey stuff.

I beleive all the acute line heads are forward compatible.

Yeah, the ACUTE D4 heads work on my profoto pack....but I want to know the difference between theACUTE D4 head and the ACUTE 2 head. I notice the glass dome is different and the bulb seems a little differnet, but want to know more specifics, nothing on profotos site either about these heads vs one another.
Thanks thought for the reply

IIRC, the D4 heads are designed to work with both the higher voltage of the 7b packs (1000 volts DC) and with the Acute power packs (500 volts DC).... so they are "universal" heads that work on either system.
