Dark grey cat on a black leather couch.

f1./8 ::: 1/500 ::: 50mm

Bee1600 at full power, seven feet up on a stand, pointing straight up at ten foot ceiling in a large otherwise dark room.

Image resized otherwise untouched.

hehehe...

The revolution has begun.

Yeah, I'd say it definitely fired. Were the cat's eyes much larger just a moment after this shot?

I don't recall.

The set-up is of great interest to all curious creatures, drawn to it.

Well, now it's time to get a flash meter. I don't know how you chose those parameters or why you bounced the light off the ceiling. Get an umbrella and aim the light at the subject.

Uh... it's called visual humor. The tech specs were part of the joke. Sorry that wasn't clear.

An example demonstrating (I hope) resounding and definitive non-cluelessness regarding using this fine new toy, which I've only used for an hour or so when this was taken.

Does the exposure seem a little off on this shot?

I guess we call these extreme high key shots. It may start a new trend!

Cheers,

I got it, and thought it was funny. My new Alien Bee 800 arrived yesterday. I won't get to play until I take it down to the studio tomorrow evening Have fun Kurt!
