My frameshop and greeting area for the studio has a street level, on Main St access with windows that face a road with a traffic light. I have great exposure, I have always enlarged photos for the window as well as expensive art work. I want to start to use my projector on the windows for a slide show display. I am trying to find out what I can project against to give it the best look, I know nothing about rear projection, can anyone help?

They actually make Rear-Projection screens.

I doubt that it will be visible during the daylight though.

....I've seen those used by "DJ's" and at clubs..which are indoors..and they turn the house lights down for full visual effect..but like he said,..you won't be able to see much of anything durring the day light hours...thus burning out your bulb pretty quickly.. It's like going into a movie theater and taking a shot of the screen with your flash... it will blast out what is being projected..and you will have a picture of nothing... However, if your location is visited by passers bye after hours, and you have one of those electronic power timers...like the kind you use for security lights (so you save bulb life...those are pretty costly),...you could put on one heck of an attraction that I am sure would turn heads.. Just an alternative thought..

This is to be run after dark (no local street lights) and and I would run some speakers for sound. The town I live in has been called one of the most walkable towns in the country, the local people and tourist come to town at night for walk and look around. The stop light is also the crossroads of 4 hiways. I did a softball slide show on Sat. night and noticed that almost everyone stopped and spent several minutes infront of the screen and I thought that this might work as a means of advertising that is more cost effective than shat I am paying for. The more info the better.

You might also want to consider a large LCD screen instead of rear projection. Apple has a 30" high definition screen for $3K. --Randy
