Hey there

Tim -- I have followed your work with Shawna for a long time and both me and my husband, Marc always comment on how good it is. It really is clear, professional, and yes at times erotic photography. But it's VERY good!!

I just wanted to share that with you and also let you know I would be very interested in shooting some of the style you shoot with you with the colored lighting effects and wet look etc....

It's really good stuff.

Hopefully you know who I am too...

Anyways, we love you work!

Missy (&Marc) -- Florida (Why don;t you guys come down here and work with some models in that time you have free!!?? ;o) )

Rolando, I love these shots! I think black and white is such a great medium for glamour and, in my humble opinion, helps me to improve my own work because I have found that color hides a multitude of sins, as it were. I have a couple images I wanted to share but I haven't put them up on the internet yet for a link so I'll try again later.

Good day!

While shadows are great and I love the feel they give to an image, they certainly don't work for every model.

If your model doesn't have the skin for it you have to shoot flat unless you REALLY want to show their age.

Rolando,
I agree, flat lighting sucks. Shadows add shape, form and texture. For the past few days I've been to a dozen sites looking for models for a series of shoots on South Padre Island. I was shocked by a lot of the lazy lighting out there. Style is one thing, taste another. But there are a lot models who look bad in their portfolios because of flat -- two lights at 45 degrees and blast away -- lighting. A little extra effort can go a long way toward creating a good shot for you and the model, and, oh yeah, the guy who might be paying for it all, the client. I guess he counts, too

Tim,
I just joined this forum and I must say you are one greedy so and so. It's bad enough that you have such a beautiful wife and that she's a good model but you being a good photog AND web designer, well, you're just being greedy.
Okay, I'm just kidding. Actually, I love the site and the work.
I can't wait to see the rest of it.

Missy and Marc,

Of course I know who you and Marc are! I've really enjoyed the work that you've posted that you've done with your husband and other assorted photographers. Based on the quality of photogs that you've worked with, I'm flattered that you're interested in my stuff!

I would love to shoot with you. However, since I recently joined the ranks or the unemployed, my travel budget is, shall we say, - highly limited.

I am going to try to work out attending at least one of the shoot events coming up this spring. Either Rolando's in Philly, JT's supershoot in Vegas in May...are you going to be modeling for either of those?

Anyways thanks for the compliments. Let's stay in touch and hopefully we'll hookup for some work at some point.

BTW...you and Marc are always welcome up here for a weekend. We could get some of those hot lookin' "Wet n' Wild" look photos you mentioned that you liked in my humble little basement studio here.

Take Care,
Tim H

riosun,

Yep, you're right in your points, but your last point is a good one, it's all about what your client expects--are you selling the model, or the product? Kinda of like those DeBeers ads were they use dramatic lighting to focus on the diamonds, not the model who you still can see in the images...thanks..

I like B&W too, and I like to play with lighting--as I mention in my workshop, I have no magic formula, I set my lights were I feel they fall the best on the subject for what I'm tring to achieve...hope you get those images up...thanks...
