One of my friends is getting married and wants me and the wife to shoot her wedding. We are not charging anything and gonna give the prints as the gift. Anyway, I was thinking about using the 400 UC instead of the 160NC just as an expriement. Also she wants the black and white pre wedding - getting ready type stuff to. what BW film do you guys recommend for this. I dont know the church so I don't know the condidtions...if they are like most it will be only the regular light fixtures in a dressing room and my flash. and oh yeah gonna shoot on 35mm

One thing about shooting black and white at a wedding. You need lots of tonality to get the black of the tux and the white of the dress correct.

Generally, I'd stay away from Kodak Tmax and Ilford Delta Pro. Too crisp. Try either Kodak Tri-X Professional or the new Fuji Accros.

I haven't shot 35mm black and white in a while -- but I've been using the Tri-X professional in medium format and been very happy. I got a few rolls of the Accros from RG at one of the workshops and was pleased with the tones that I got from that as well.

Best of luck!

Bob

This was (I think) Tri-X Pro in a Mamiya 6.
