I was shooting with my florescent tubes I adjusted my white balance I was shooting fine but half of the images has this cast. Then I changed lights (hot light) 3200K and adjust the white balance again and I was okay. I went back to the tubes with better results but about 10% has this cast. Is it me or my camera? And I have RTFM

But the hot light balanced better

My experience has been that flourescents are sporadic. They tend to change as they get older, one of the reasons that I shoot digital raw, so I can adjust temp later if it does not meet the standard that I shot for.

Also, keep in mind that fluorescent lights don't really have a true color temperature, because they don't act like black body radiators. So "correcting" to fluorescent lights is going to be more problematic than for hot lights, which DO act like (cold) black bodies.

Of course, this doesn't explain WHY the colors changed from shot to shot. I would guess that it MIGHT be power line flucuations? If I remember, the effect of such on the output of arc lamps (like fluorescents) is greater than on radiative emitters, like hot lamps.

Dang, I didn't know you were waiting on that answer. I could answer the "why is there air?", thing too, but then you'd have so little left to puxxle you.

This is what I am going to do
1. New Tubes (5000k this time)
2. A line conditioner (yes I have a line conditioner at my house) its free and I have it .
3. Not ready to buy new lights until I prefect my composition

I can shoot in raw but i only have 512 cards. I would not know how to correct just yet

or I could use hot lights, but I hate them I love my tubes.. gotta figure this one out

IF you're really insistant on shooting with fluorescent lighting, there's a plethora of advice available on how to filter them to approximate a true color temperature. Look in the older, film-based literature.

Although, there are also newer (i.e., newer than ME) tubes available that are supposedly "more correct." Maybe what I've told you is obsolete... but I don't think entirely so.

Good luck.

Well, if you answer the air question, I can move on to "why is there water?"

This may sound really stupid (and expensive), but that's not gonna stop me.

But what about the grow lamps used in the aquarium world?

FYI I have seen Daylight balanced florescent lights at Wal-Mart. Never shot with them, but just looking at the lit tubes side by side there is a remarkable difference.
