you'll also have to get a specific SCSII card that will add $200 more to your cost

[/ QUOTE ] Or you can get a SCSI to firewire converter for about $85. --Randy

Pretty neat, RM.

Have you used this with a RFS 3570 scanner and does it work? The reason I ask is I know that particular scanner is very finicky about which SCSI cards it will and won't recognize. But if this gizmo does the trick I'm interested!

Thanks for the heads up,
Dave

[/ QUOTE ]No, Dave, I haven't actually used this device. My scanner (Microtek ScanMaker III) has a SCSI interface also, but I also have an old PowerMac 9500 (120 MHz) with built-in SCSI port. SCSI was "state of the art" when I bought these units in 1995, but now I keep the old Mac around just to run the scanner, which still works great.

I've made several purchases from OWC, so I can vouch for their reliability. I've never had to return anything to them, however, so you may want to check their return policy before you decide to roll the dice on matching their SCSI converter with your particular scanner. --Randy
