I've seen the light. After using a buddy's X-Drive Pro a couple of weekends ago, I really liked how much handier it was to dump cards into than my laptop, for the purposes of that weekend (shooting a bodybuilding show).

I know that there are at least a couple of threads talking about "digital wallets" of various forms.

I know that a couple of you like the FlashTrax device, but I don't need/want something that bulky. A couple of you like the Nixvue Vista, but it's out of my budget range at the moment (though FireWire would be SOOO much nicer than USB).

So I'm looking at the Wolverine SixPac reader drive. It has a better price-per Gig than the Image-Tank G2 (Big Book of B&H says $200/20G v. $330/20G), reads all media without adaptors (not really a big issue), and has the simplest and fastest activation sequence that I've seen yet (stick the card in, push one button).

Do any of y'all have any experience or other knowledge with this device? I'm interested in durability, reliability, battery life, actual ease of use and etc.

I'm also open to other reccomendations/suggestions of similary operating (stick the card in, push one button) devices...

Thanks in advance...

I used one for a week or so and it worked just fine. No problems. Like most of these units you only get a couple of hours of battery life on a charge, but that is usually enough and you can always take the charger with you.

Cheers,
rfs

Here is what I am going to purchase. This is Epson's entree into the digital storage device market. 40GB hard drive, 3.8" screen, looks to be really nice and in the strike zone on price $499. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/c...s&oid=49164278
