I burned a session on 4 CD's through Roxio. I can't get the last two to open. There is something on them. They are NEF RAW files. Can't retrieve from Roxio, Windows Explorer, Capture One or Nikon Capture. Any suggestions, PLEASE! This is a 2 thousand high school senior session.

Thanks
Robert

Hit Google for Card Recovery. I have the free program and it works great but I routinely change the names for easier typing and recognition so I can't give you the original name. Once you find the site they have several different applications, all free. Hope it helps. Did you say you can't even see a directory listing? wow. I usually check the cd before trashing the originals.

I can see what is on the CD they just won't open. I normally open all my CD's before trashing the card. I don't know what happened.

Are you trying to open them in the same drive you burned them on or a different drive? Do you get an error message or just nothing happens?

Download ISOBuster

I can not praise it highly enough. It saved the data needed for a $15 million class action I was involved in.

I found something of use while working with ISOBuster.
This came up.
Primary Volume Descriptor(PVD) is unreadable.
Read Error at address: 16
Device reported Error: 05/64/01
That's all really neat, but what do I do now?

ISOBuster should index the entire volume and find all the sessions, and show them in the navigation pane on the left. It may take half an hour or more on a badly corrupted disk.

Find the session you want, highlight it, and then the files from that session will show in the right hand pane. Select them all, and chose the menu option "extract" and it will prompt you for the location on your hard drive where you want the files extracted to.

Try opening them with another program such as Paint Shop Pro, or use the plain desktop "D" drive or whatever your burn drive is and click on them. Maybe you can save it from there. The other thing is, if you can see them on the drive, copy them to your hard drive and see if they can open from there.
