I just got my Epson 2200. I am using Ilford papers now, but would like to know what else you current Epson users like as well. My basic needs are some matte papers for portraits. Of course, I'd like to try some specialty papers as well.

Links are also helpful.

I use almost exclusvely Epson watercolor paper on my 1270 which for the price and availability work best for me. However, There are losts of different types out there and several companies offer sample packs so I'd try a bunch of those things. Try http://www.inkjetmall.com/ and my favorite http://www.inkjetart.com/index.html Great sites for all kinds of info. And for this information you have to tell me how to get a hat like yours.

I've tried a helluvalot of papers and there are a lot of good ones out there. But in my experience, Epson Watercolor paper is the finest. More important, it has been extremely well received by my private clients. It handles both color and B&W well.

Give the Epson Velvet Fine Art paper a try. It is absolutely gorgeous. I also have to give a vote for the Epson Watercolor paper. Another paper I have been playing with that looks very nice is Moab Paper Companies Entrada Fine Art Bright White and Natural. The Natural is maybe a little warm but both print beautifully. Moab Paper Co.

I love the water color and the matte...do not like the glossy media... ( based on my 2000P )

Hi,

I have the 2200. I use the Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl (similar to the Epson Premium Luster), Epson Watercolor, Epson Velvet Fine Art and occasionally the Enhanced Matte.

I just found out that Ilford now makes a Smooth Fine Art paper and Epson has brought out a couple of new ones: Premium Semimatte and UltraSmooth Fine Art paper. They also make a Water Resistant Canvas (in wide rolls) which you can get and cut to fit the 2200.

Just make sure you always get paper that you KNOW will work with the pigmented inks.
