Hey All,

Has anyone experienced a problem with d-100 shutter lagg? I have had mine since March of this year and the shutter is going..click 1 sec lag..click click. It has not affected my pictures but will not let me shoot the fps that is capable of. It is doing it on ALL shutter speads even at 1/4000. I cant bare the thought of six weeks without my camera...and no...I am not rich enough to afford a back up...lol.

Were you using studio strobe or remote radio (ie. PocketWizard or Quantum)?

Make sure the mirror bounce setting is turned off. As I recall, someone else had this problem and that turned out to be the culprit.

In addition to the mirror bounce, I would double-check that the timer isn't set.. I've made that mistake..

Besides the Mirror bounce others mentioned check your flash settings. If you have red eye set it could cause a shutter lag.

Are you sure that your buffer isn't filled up? When I shoot too fast, with too slow a card, I sometimes hit the shutter button and it doesn't release for a second or so while the images write to the buffer. Picked up a few SanDisk Ultra II's and haven't noticed the problem since. Other than that, my experience with both my D100's over the past year and a half has been awesome. The other replies to your post are definite possibilities, also. Good luck, hope you don't have to send it in for repair.
