I've been looking at Chimera's Super PRO systems and have a possible odd question. What is typical for use in beauty and glamour photography...silver or white lined? I would suspect the white lined, however, I'm interested to know when you might use the other. Pro's / Con's to each.

Anyone, anyone?

Thanks!

Brent,

You'll get softer light with a white lined box, harsher light from silver lined box, or a warm light from a gold lined box.

I'm not a pro, just a weekend duffer, but I don't have much use for silver lined soft-boxes, reflectors or umbrellas. Personally, I like to use white for softer more flattering light and the occasional gold lined light modifier to warm up the colors.

Good luck,
Michael

I have a Photoflex Soft box (the model escapes me at the moment, check B&H) and it has a white interior with Silver and Gold interchangable inserts.

I actually leave (2) silver and (2) gold ones in the box when I shoot my models...

I have similar models Brent and I use white... I can warm it up in post if I want to but the gold cast can be difficult to remove. This shot was done with an Octodome... my fav as far as softboxes go...

Just my style and humble opinion....
