If the camera is still under warranty, it costs you shipping. If it's not, I don't know what the cost is, but they then warranty the body for another 6 months, or so I have read.

Also, I uploaded the 1.0.4 firmware without a problem. Everything worked fine. No problems uploading the 1.0.5 either. Just very carefully followed the instructions.

One of the things I did when I invested in my 10D was I shot several lenses of the same type on the body and lo and behold the diffrence was astounding between them. If you intend to invest in this stuff be sure you can go to the photo store and try several and check them out. You will be amazed at the diffrence between lenses of the same type.
