to get a 32x22" photo directly from a file taken with a 10D? (RAW Mode obviously). I have a client who wishes to hire me to take a photo of a local landmark to hang in her office.

I've done 20X30 with a 10D, not sure the extra 2 inches will matter much.

I've done 20x30 as well with a 300d. It might be a bit soft, but as artwork it looks good and unless you inspect it closely you don't really notice any softness.

Up until recently....I had a work of mine hanging in a local hair salon that I shot for a magazine...that the client bought the rights to....to make it into a 4x5 foot poster that was displayed in their store front window for two years.. Oh, I didn't take it with a 10D...but a D30! 3 Megapixels!! That's all....not 6.......but 3!

32 x 22 ? = No Problemo!!

Very Cool! So, how do I "process" it? Obviously having it printed @ 300dpi isn't the way to go. So do I have it done on a large photo plotter (epson-like) or is there a way to actually output it like you would a smaller photograph on photo paper?

I doubt the 2 inches will matter either. Thank you for the reply! How did you output it?

99 percent of my printing is 36"x44" poster size printing. I work for a university and print all of the posters for scientific presentations. I often take an image straight from a Nikon D100 (3008x200px) into a photoshop (PSD) sized 36x44 @ just 100 dpi and the prints are absolutely perfect. I have an Epson 9600 printer, the same as my local digital print shop (www.murphyscamera.com). I spoke to one of the guys there two weeks ago and he said they print at 100dpi on the 9600 as well. There is really no signifigant gain in printing at higher than that when creating poster sized prints. The paper choice DOES however make a difference. I typically use epson premium lustre photo paper (as does Murphy's) and the prints are great. If I use the 9600 to print 11x14's I jump up to 300dpi, but I get the same image quality at 100dpi on the large prints.
