I know I have seen posts about this before but can't seem to find them now. I am looking for a software program that will allow me to back up images across multiple CD's. Say I have 700MB CD's but want to back up 1GB of images. Is there software that will split the files across the cds for me or do I have to continue to do it myself?

Thanks

Try Archive Creator. It's a great program which not only will break up your images over multiple CD's, or DVD's, but will also put an HTML document on each disc (or only the first disc of the series) containing thumbnails of all the images. It works great, the price is very reasonable, it reads RAW files, and is very easy to use. I've enclosed a link to Luminous Landscape's site which contains a very comprehensive review. I highly recommend it!

The only other way that I know of that you can get more files onto a cd, is to use something like WinZip. It's a file compression tool, which with image files, may not be the way to go, but what Jeff is recommending sounds like the way to go with Archive creator.

I dont want more images on the CD. I just want a program that will alow a group of images to span mayn CD's if needed.

Using something like winzip wouldnt do much of anything for jpg's as they are already compressed files.
