Has anyone used the Calumet 3D reflectors or some similar system?

I would be interested in finding out how well they work or if they are just another gimmick.

Thanks,
Daryl

I have used the system. I don't like it. I don't have any examples because, well, I don't like it.

The reason is the catch lights in the subjects eyes.....Maybe I used it wrong so don't take my word for it.

I think it would work in natural light at a distance much better then I have seen it advertised in the studio but if that is the case, why not just a regular reflector?

Thanks JT. I appreciate the review.

Can I ask what you have found to work well for reflectors and scrims especially when shooting without an assistant and needing to mount reflectors and scrims on stands?

Thanks,
Daryl

http://www.sunbounce.com/ To me without a doubt the best reflective systems out there. The silver panel, shown here, assisted by Jon Van Allen, provided very nice results on an extreme misty overcast day. Rolando is going to be bringing some Sunbounce Reflectors with us to the Austin Supershoot as well. Andy Pearlman let us use his at HTL V.

Here is what I currently use without an assistant to hold the circular reflector discs on light stands both in the studio and on location.....
