Digital Camera Battery Conditioning.

I have read recently a couple of posts that allude to memory card failures and these posts stress the importance of 'conditioning' the batteries in digital bodies. Can some one please outline to me what steps I need to take to 'condition' the batteries in my Nikon D100 body?

I have had my D100 body for close to two years and I have never knowingly 'conditioned' the batteries nor have I experienced a memory card failure or noticed any sort of abnormally short battery life so maybe I am lucky or maybe disaster for me is just around the corner.

Any advice and/or guidelines will be appreciated. Thanks to all.

Re: Digital Camera Battery Conditioning.

Conditioning Lithium batteries, like what the D100 takes is not an issue but with NiCad it is a must, even on the ones that say they 'memory free'. With NMh batteries I'm not sure but I'd lean towards conditioning. BTW, if you leave NiCads sitting on the shelf for over a month I'd give them a cycle or two of conditioning. Maha, makes several good chargers for AA (for all you Fuji S2 useres) and AAA size batteries that has a conditioning cycle.

Hope that helps.
