Ebay is calling a dll when you push the submit button for the bid (the continue) button. You must have a security setting in your firewall or anti-virus program that is preventing the call to the dll from taking place.
Cheers,

Hi Ron,

I have software called Cookie Wall and it pops open a menu whenever a cookie is trying to install itself on my machine. I can select one of three options: always delete, temporarily accept, or always accept. I have disabled that software and I've also cleared out it's memory and still no luck. I was hoping it was something that simple but it appears that it wasn't. Thanks for your thoughts.

Good day!

Mike

I've been wondering about that because in the past I've had error messages and BSODs pop up on me indicating problems with certain .dll files. I wonder if I should try a reinstall of Windows 2000 Pro to restore the .dll files and try again. Actually, I am installing Linux on this machine within the next week but I sure would like to solve this puzzle before then since my house is networked with five computers and it may happen again. I also have Norton Anti-Virus corporate edition and my very first thought when I saw this happen was that Port 80 was being blocked in some way by the software but NAV Corporate doesn't have a setting for removing that port from it's watchdog list. Go figure. (or at least I haven't found it yet) However, after using another computer also using NAV Corporate and having no problems, I ruled that out.

Back to the drawing board. UGH!

Good day!

The dll I was referring to is one being called by the ebay page to a dll on their site, not yours. Do you have a firewall program running that might be intercepting this call? Another occassional problem is the google toolbar if you are using that (its popup blocker will sometimes block the strangest things, forcing you to override it).
Cheers,
rfs

I do have the Google toolbar but I have disabled the pop-up blocker for ebay. Perhaps I should uninstall it just for grins and giggles and try again. However, I have it running on my other computer as well and eBay is running fine there. Go figure.

Thanks for the tip. It gives me another direction to follow.

Good day!
