Re: On the Street approaches...works?

I've never tried it. I've almost done it lots of times, but always felt like a skeez. I just think intentions can be misinterpreted in a situation like that. Online and agencies are probably the way...

Re: Outtake from my last shoot

You know, I haven't really had any problems with red-eye shooting this way. You'd think I would, but I just haven't. I think if I were shooting with a point-n-shoot camera it'd be more of a problem,...

Re: Underexposed TMAX 3200

Hey guys thanks for the feedback!

John -- This seems to be the general consensus; most people either like the first two better or the last three better (and some are divided about the last one). ...

Underexposed TMAX 3200

Shot a little with a new-to-me film camera and some TMAX 3200. The negatives were thin, but I think I managed to salvage some stuff, and in the end I think I like the effect of the thick blacks. What...

Re: Decided to drop my two OMP portfolios...

Unlike Russ, I've had pretty good luck with ModelMayhem. OMP I haven't used much, but OMP's layout just seems way too cluttered and clunky, so I've used MM more overall anyway... But anyways, you can...

Re: Shiny

Hi Zak,

Thanks, glad you like! Each of these images was lit with one unmodified flash. The head I was using was a Dynalite head similar to this one:...

Re: Shiny

Nah, no secret. The final wet-tar look is the result of the harsh lighting (one unmodified strobe head high and from the left), his skin tone (he is very dark), makeup (well, not exactly makeup, but...

Thanks John! And yep, it's one file, just placed the two images side by side so they'd be seen this way.

Hey everyone, what's shakin'? Seems like there's not a whole lot going on around these here parts...

Re: After the shoot...are you ruthless?

I shoot a good bit of film, but when I shoot digital, I approach it the same way as my film -- I keep everything. The good, the bad, everything. I think it's helpful to see the good with the bad as a...

Re: Why spend thousands on a DSLR...

Over the past few days I've downloaded several photo apps for my iPhone. Haven't shot anything of note with it yet, but I'm always open to "alternative" forms of photography. :)

Re: Are You Over-Geeking Your Photography?

I used to over-geek my photography to the nth degree. So much so that there was a (thankfully brief) time when I literally did nothing other than test various films with various developers while...
