Re: Kiss Glenda's Astra! :D

Voted. If it were judged by best shot you've won hands down! Good luck.

Re: Boudoir

I like the lighting it has a good balance. I have a couple nit picks though. The models left hand is cropped oddly and is distracting. Also the prime focus in the shot is her bra, the models face is...

Re: Electric Avenue

WOW! I really love the fact that even the smallest detail, like the light reflecting on the smoke near the hat, was covered.

Re: In Red

I'm by no means an expert, but I think that if the model wasn't hunched over. It would make the image work better. To me her posture gives the impression that she's over exerting herself to hold up...

Re: Peacock

I think this is very well done. And give the makeup artist a pat on the back, the eye shadow mirrors the feather perfectly.

Re: Online Photo Processors

I've used Mpix and the quality is very good, though they don't offer many different paper options. I use Canvas On Demand for canvas prints and they do a fine job. The prints I've gotten back have...

Re: The Desert Fox...(Fetish)

This is the coolest setup i've seen in quite awhile. It just oozes imagination. Great job.

Re: Headshot to beatup

This I like, it's not overdone. If you don't mind my asking what kind of steps did you take here? I just about never smooth out skin, my typical skin doctoring involves the clone tool to fix problem...

Re: Headshot to beatup

Thanks you the critique guys. I didn't smooth out her skin because I think she has great skin and the few flaws she did have the light hid very well. I only smooth skin when the client asks for as I...

Re: Newbie needs help...

I'm sure you got the help you needed but I have a diagram & examples here http://sfjphoto.blogspot.com/ that may help. The portraits were shot at F11, 1/200, @ iso 100. The main was approx 4 ft from...

Headshot to beatup

Shot this today at a local get together of about 60+ photogs. I shot it at f11, 1/200, @ iso 100. Used a 5' octobox and a reflector to her left.

Re: I am Blessed

I just wanted to say thanks to Photojim. This last year sucked in a big way & I kinda lost sight of what mattered. Between struggling with bills because I lost half of my paycheck after having to...

Re: It's almost Thanksgiving... Better late than never?

I really like the first one. It conveys more of an eerie, mystery feeling than the others.

Karen

I was playing around with my new Hensel 500 the other day trying to get a feel for it. This is one of the shots i've got done.

Karen

This is from a few months ago. I know it's not the best shot ever, but I thought i'd post it to see what others think could have been better.

Re: Hensel 500 pro question

Well to update this trhead, I made the dive & bought the Hensel. WOW, it's definitely a leap, hop & skip ahead of the AB strobe I have. The build quality is far above what I expected. I'm not worried...

Re: Girl on a Bench

Lighting is spot on! And your model did a great job also. It's refreshing seeing some not so post processed images. Beautiful work Jimmy. If you get a chance post a couple more.

Re: Couple sunset shots from Friday

That's Lightning in the first shot. I took about 50 or so frames and only got 2 with it in them. This was the first frame. I just pushed the shutter release when I saw a bolt and hoped for the best.

Couple sunset shots from Friday

I shot these from the top of Francis Peak, UT. which is just east and 4000 ft above Farmington.

Hensel 500 pro question

I'm considering upgrading from my AB800 to the Hensel 500 Pro. The main reason is the bee scares me when I use my 5' octobank on it. It seems like it doesn't lock down tight enough and the softbox...
