Re: Lightroom beta about to expire

There is also a world of difference between the beta and the final as far as speed. The final is MUCH faster and there are some added features. I really like it. I got it free as I had the paid...

If anyone still has an old Vivitar 283 laying around and the SB4 power supply, can you check the power supply for me and tell me which side is the + side? I want to set mine up with a battery pack...

Re: Sigma lens on Canon body... yes or no?

I think part of what you are seeing is information on older Sigma lenses. Some of them had a problem "talking to" the newer Canon bodies and they had to replace the chip in the lens. The newer lensed...

Re: SLIDE SHOW PRO....HELP

I haven't used this program but have used others like it. Take a look in the preferences and see if there is a quality setting for the image generation. If so it may be set low to keep file sizes...

Angry Re: Raw Shooter bought out by Adobe!

I can see it coming already. I paid for the pro version. When I upgrade from my 20D Adobe will offer no upgrade for RawShooter for the new body. Will be forced to buy the Adobe product at three times...

Re: Backing up files

I want to toss this out there again. USB drives are great for backup but there is one thing you want to remember... like any other hard drive, they will die. The two biggest things that kill them are...

Re: Flash card to CD storage devices?

I have one of the 200's. It writes CD-R or CD-RW but not DVD. It works just as they say it does. The disc spanning works fine if you have more images on the card than will fit on the CD-R. If you...

Re: Unusual auto focus problem

Are you sure you didn't switch the focus to one of the other modes other than "One Shot" and it isn't trying to track your subject??

Re: Which browser. . .

If you want a real kick try the portable Firefox. It only takes about 10mb of space on a usb thumb drive. You can add your bookmark file to it and take your browser anywhere, plug it into the usb...

Enough is enough for a while

My 10D body has less than 6000 shots on it and my 20D is at around 2400. I think I'll wait for the next one. I'd rather use the money to go somewhere to take more pictures. Hell I could pay for...

Re: My New 20D

If you set it to shoot RAW + JPG and set it for B&W you get the JPG in B&W and the RAW in color. Kind of a 2 or the price of 1 thing.

For those of you using XP with SP2 someone has written a "Power Toy" that will let you view RAW files in the thumbnail mode when exploring directories.

I know some use catalog programs and so on...

Re: Canon 20D and metering modes

I'm going to go with a tripod when I can but the chances will be few and far between. Most of the time will be on boats and one trip in a helicopter.

I'm just going to bracket and go for the gusto.

Re: What is the the average screen setting

According to website stats the average Joe Blow user is running 1024 X 768.

I run 1280 X 1024 on my 19" CRT and 1024 X 768 on my 17 inchers.

I'm sure there are still a number of people out...
