Re: d-700 upgrade

Yeah, I had my D3 within the first week, too.
How the hell do you confuse a D3 with a D200 -- seriously?

It's actually worse with auto WB.

Big and slow. The D200 NEFs and Canon...

Re: d-700 upgrade

You should Google "nikon d3 overexposure" and read all the comments. Again, hot and yellow. I had to set it to EV-0.7 outdoors to mitigate the problems, and servicing the body didn't help any.

Re: d-700 upgrade

I find the D3/D700 to be hot and yellow compared to the D80/D200 sensor, when shot at an ISO below 1600. Honestly, that sensor was optimized for ISO 6400, and everything below and above varies in...

Re: Question for Thought????

:ditto:

Darkrooms give you bad breath, too.

I will admit, however, that I have a hard time taking a "photographer" serious when he knows nothing about a darkroom.

I think every beginner...

Re: Photoshop Hit's 20! Where were you?

Did not use PS until 1993, used other software before that.
Not a big computer user in 1990.

Re: Format Change or Slow Death???

I left when it turned into G1, but came back when it turned back into GG.
Coincidence, more than anything else.

Money affects traffic. People do more online when they have more money.

Re: Are You Over-Geeking Your Photography?

No.

What I witness are people that expect a camera to just "do it for them" and they fail at quality images because the camera almost always guesses poorly. If you want a good shot, set the camera...

Re: Bridge Fails to Open in CS3

I gave up with Bridge on one of my computers. Good luck.
Good software, but buggy as hell.

Re: one vs multiple lenses

I'm being generous when I say an 18-200 lens looks like crap. It's great for snapshots, soccer moms love them. If you take your photo seriously, you'll hate it. The problems range from geometry...

Re: hello from texas

Howdy. You've come to the right place.
Being in TX, you should look at attending one of Rolando's San Antonio workshops.

Re: Remote Desktop Setup

You can't do it. Even on a Gigabit LAN, with VNC (lighter than RDP), it is painfully slow. CS3 and CS4 are resource hogs, and you can't effectively pipe everything through remote lines.

I load a...

Re: Outdoor Photo magazines, $3.73 year sub, today only

I really like some of the editorials and Q&A sections. Or those articles where they show shots and go in-depth explaining how it was done.

Re: Are you shooting Video as well as Stills?

Nope, no thanks.
If I need video, I'll hire a videographer with a real video camera.

I tell stories through stills only. :)

Re: When Models Take Charge

Sometimes I let them lead. Sure, why not -- I can be lazy in that area, focus more on the shooting techniques itself.
