Re: Mellice

Thanks for your comments! I dragged the shutter at 1/8 sec. so the light from the table lamp would show up (when shooting at ISO 100).

Just wanted to finally post something on garage glamour....

Mellice

I realize not many people around here anymore, but I just recently had a shoot and thought I'd post a few photos. The first one has her left eye partially hidden by her hair, unfortunately.

Re: New to this...model:Brittany

Nice model, but the background is far too cluttered.

Re: For C&C: Ellen

I love this - the lighting, the background color and just about everything seems to work for me. I really like the subtle use of backlighting here and the way the sheer curtains(?) give the...

Re: New and wanting to learn

I agree with this poster. I've always hated "women with guns" shots and I'm pretty sure he copied the idea from a photo he'd seen. It's an educated guess because I've seen this exact same shot at...

Re: Kendra

Cute model, but I'm left wondering why you put her in the right third of the image in that first photo. Right now, I'm not sure if the tree trunk or the model is supposed to be the main subject.:-)...

Re: New Model

In the first one at least, I think the main light is a little low for my tastes. Also, have you given any thought to trying to smooth out her lips a tiny bit? They're a little rough looking and I...

Re: Carrie

When you're using flash, it's basically your flash power setting and your aperture that control your lighting. Because of the duration of the flash, your shutter speed has minimal effect on exposure....

Re: Carrie

I'll only address the third image. I'm not sure of the purpose of the shoot through umbrella from camera left (used to light the background or directed at the model?), but it looks to me like it...

Re: Learning to use my new Nikon

I kind of like #6. Am really liking the warm tones and atmosphere on #3 too. Many of the others, not so much. One big problem for me is one of your model's expressions. She seems to have the same...

Re: PINUP

Actually, the word on her top is "Police". It was easier to read in the less edited version, which the poster also put on various photography forums.

Re: New Studio work with Monik

Both the background and towel in #2 are too "busy" looking, with too many colors and patterns. They distract away from the model, IMO.

Re: Reminiscing; One of the early photographers

Peter Gowland will always be my favorite photographer! He's the main reason I began attempting glamour. And sorry to make a small correction here, but Peter will be 93 in April. He and his wife are...

Re: Images from my shoot w/ Antoine Verglas in NYC!!!

Oh, one of those hanging chairs! Sort of hard to tell what it was because the images are high key. I was thinking it was made of some translucent plastic or acrylic, but I could be wrong. Anyway, I...

Re: Images from my shoot w/ Antoine Verglas in NYC!!!

Nice images, and great to see you posting again!!! I'm curious about the circular/semi-spherical prop used in the last two photos. What was that made of? Parts of it seem solid (an illusion?), but...

AJ Alexander

Can't believe no one's mentioned this yet, but AJ is Playboy's Playmate of the Month (May 2008)! I remember when she (and the excellent G1 photographers she's worked with) used to post photos here...
