Re: Blast from the past coming back

I understand Bernie, I tend to stay gone for several months at a time, then stick my nose back in the door to see what's up. I don't really recognize your name, but that isn't unusual for me. ;)

Re: Decided to drop my two OMP portfolios...

I dropped OMP, and mostly ignore MM. Facebook makes me more money in one month than OMP and MM ever did combined. And I don't even put up really sexy photos there. :)

Re: CF cards

These days type II cards are usually the HUGE capacity cards like 32GB because they have more bulk. Yes they are thicker, that extra thickness was partly for the Microdrives.... which I don't think...

Re: Took this Today at the Recording Studio

looks like an available light shot in florescent light. Which is weird that they would have florescent lights in a recording studio, those things make noise that the mic's pick up very well.

the...

Re: Sexy Boxers CC Please

The best thing that would help is to stop using on camera flash. Go to www.strobist.com and read the lighting 101 section at least 2 times. There is so much info to absorb that it will probably...

Re: Magazine photo critique before I send

Well, the bike looks better.... Personally I would mask the bike and lighten it instead of the whole photo, because the sky and rider look better darker. You've probably gone too far in desaturating...

Re: Magazine photo critique before I send

I think it would be stronger if you had added some light on the handlebars. As it is, the pedal down there distracts from the handlebars because it's brighter. Cropping the pedal out would probably...

Re: ***?WHY DON'T ANY OF YOU INTERACT OR COMMENT?***

Well, I'm not interested in giving or receiving attaboys.... and when you post a lot of photos you might get a few critical comments but mostly it's going to be attaboys you get. And that seems to...

Re: cc please

the even 45 degree x 45 degree lighting on each side doesn't work with her hair style. Both lights are casting a shadow strait into the eye and making them look dark and dead. In this case I would...

Re: ***?WHY DON'T ANY OF YOU INTERACT OR COMMENT?***

OK, your attempt at glamour post.. how many photos did you put in there expecting a critique on? By the time you get to end of them you've forgotten what was at the top. Keep it to one to three...

Re: Are egg crates interchangeable?

As long as they are the right size they should fit just fine. I think these guys make custom sized ones http://www.lighttools.com/

Re: Capture One

What I mean by reads is that the white balance, sharpening, noise reduction and exposure are very close to what you see if you open the RAW files up in Nikon's Capture NX. About the only difference...

Capture One

I've been playing with Capture One for a little while and I find it incredibly annoying that it reads RAW data from my Nikons much better than Lightroom does. Why can't Adobe gets it act together in...

Re: studio flash sync with D90

Depending on the trigger that could also be part of the problem. Typically those cheap ones are slower than the expensive ones. I've seen some that have 4 channels that on channel 1 sync at 1/250,...

Re: Help with ARB800

why would you need the lens shade on the lens? The shade is to keep stray light out of the lens, if you have the light along the same axis as the lens no need for a shade.

That said, I do like...

Re: Studio Flooring

whatever floats your boat, dark would probably show dust more. Maybe make one end of the room dark the other end light, that way you could have both shooting options. :D

Re: Studio Flooring

carpet sucks in a studio, especially if you use seamless paper because high heels punch through it. I'd suggest the laminate flooring, it looks nice and it's solid. Though it might cause lines in...

Re: California-Sunbounce Pro Sun-Swatter

I've got a large scrim jim with the 3/4 stop and double black net screens and they are great. Instant shade without diffusion. :) I imagine the sun swatter is about the same. :)

Re: IR remote

I've not heard of those radio triggers before so who knows. Cheap radio triggers are notorious for misfires or slowing down your sync speed. You can go here and ask about them on their discussion...

Re: IR remote

It should work with no problem. The older ones would trip them and they weren't as powerful. :)
