Re: Blue Corset on Stairs

Well...there are two parts to this... First the model needs to practice showing different emotions with just her face. It is alot like acting. I tell beginning models to stand in front of the mirror...

Re: Signing Away Rights to Images.....

Treat it like a commercial work for hire deal... I charge my rate and the client gets the images to do with what they want. They own the copyrights as well. If they want me to retouch the images...

Re: Male photos + BW conversion

I agree with soupman... He nailed the critique. Nice job. I think the B&W conversion looks good.

Re: Blue Corset on Stairs

Overall I would say you did a nice job. The lighting looks very nice. In the first one I Dont care for the position of her left hand...looks like she is pointing at something. And in all of them her...

Re: Giving prints/files to a paid model?

I definately see your point and dont disagree with the thought process. However, what can it hurt to give a model a couple web images to use. It will certainly build good will with that model and...

Re: Black and White conversion test - some selective color.

I am commenting only on the first. I dont think the selective color works well here. My eye is drawn to the lips but then my eye just drifts out of the image. There is nothing else to keep my eyes in...

Re: Going tribal...

Love the concept here. I think the first is my favorite although I would like to see her face the camera just a little bit more. Not fully turned but just a touch more then she is. The other I dont...

Re: Giving prints/files to a paid model?

If you are paying her in cash then that is her pay... You have no obligation to give images as well unless that was part of your agreement. That said, I will typically make sure I slip her a print or...

Re: Some thoughts on critiques...

I agree... A critique should be helpful. If a shot sucks then I will tell you why I think it sucks and what I may try to make it better next time.

The photographers didnt leave because of good...

Re: Some thoughts on critiques...

I didnt say my critiques were not constructive. I said they were honest. They arent personal but unfortunately many people cant seperate a critique from an attack on them personally. You have to...

Re: Lynsey J for C&C - REVISED IMAGES!

#2 works well. The color seems a little off to me though.

Re: Some thoughts on critiques...

First I have to say that I have known Al for several years now. I know his work and I know his personality. He is a cranky old man and that is fine with me because I am usually pretty cranky too.

Re: some post work

I think this shot is not really worth the time in post to make it look good. The pose is not flattering to the model. The clothes are wrinkled too much, and it looks pretty soft.

Just my opinion....

Re: Finally!!!!

Here is my take on this. I make my living with a camera although it is a meager living at this time. The beginning of December I had a local club ask me to shoot a calendar for them. I was then told...

Re: Kara's First Time

Re: Megan - "Pin-up"

For me it seems a little to cramped at the top... Other then that I think the expression is a little off. The lighting looks good to me though.

Re: She's A GANGSTA!

Lighting looks great. Her pose being straight on to the camera is not the most flattering for her abdomen though. Nice shot none the less.

Re: Malice - Dec 2007 Shoot

#1 A tighter crop isnt gonna help because the neck is at a weird angle and the wrinkles there are always gonna be a problem. It makes her face look heavier then it is.

#2 The blur added in post...

Re: NEC wgx2pro TFT - question ???

Have one of your pics printed at your lab and then when you get it back match the monitor to the print. I usually use one of the spyders for my initial calibration and then fine tune it to match a...

Re: Carly Erin

I am not totally sure about the crop. The way her chin is cut off is bothering me a little, but not enough to make me not like it. Very well done.
