Re: Is there ever good time to buy a new lens ?

Re: Is there ever good time to buy a new lens ?

Hi Ron, Overall I'd say it's a piece of crap. Quality of the optics seems ok as I have gotten some ok pics with it, but for the loose tolerences and cheap construction it lacks badly in consistancy...

Re: Is there ever good time to buy a new lens ?

Based on my experiance the best time to buy a lens is before you need it! Bought a D-100 in late December, Already had a AF-S 28-70mm f/2.8 D, that I love, and a AF 70-300 f/4-5.6 G that I'm coming...

Re: Mary

James, Can't say that I have a preference one over the other, as I guess it would be decided by what I intended to use it for and how it would be displayed. I guess my preference that not...

Re: New PIc

Rick, How about both arms out in front of her, one hand on top of the other on the back ground, but not so high that it precludes her over the shoulder glance? Think it would give even better...

Re: White Balance Color Checker Card

Might check Amazon.com and search "Kodak grey card" or something along that line as I saw them listed there recently, (past few months). I'm thinking they were under books > photography

Re: An interesting question

One point that seems to have not been mentioned here that is important to marksmanship and more so to photography is "follow through". Pausing as the weapon or camera fires so as to not disrupt it...

Re: An interesting question

Dan, Do you mean "steady handed" photographer? I'm guessing that you want to improve your technique to enable yourself to capture sharper images at slower shutter speeds when hand holding the camera?

Re: Need feedback to improve skills.

I ain't going to knock what you've done thus far, especially not until I get home and generate some postables of my own. If you're having that good a time and getting that good results with a piece...

Re: Copyrights

Otto, I'd suggest that you search copyright right here on these forums. There's enough discussion on it to fill a library. If you're in photography for financial gain, and even if you're not, I would...

Had the same problem. Just right click>show picture. So, whats your prior experience, and what are you shooting now? I like your pic, with the exception of the slightly tucked chin/ head position....

Re: Image Size Reduction & CD production

Hey all, Thanks! I guess I'll go the contact sheet route as I do know how to do that. I'm not what you would call "suave" with PS, and have'nt dealt with actions thus far. Actually I've done very...

Image Size Reduction?

I'm in the process of reducing my images from this little adventure, (Kuwait/ Iraq), to burn to CD for copyright registration. I've got approx. 5.5 Gigs of 3008x2000. Been chiseling away at with...

Re: Expired film?

Would guess that aside from how the film was stored to begin with, just how expired the film is would be a factor. There's got to be some amount of fluff as to the deterioration/ time for variables....

Re: Monopod physics

I think "moment" is the term your looking for. Too tired and it's too frivilus, to bother going into crap like rollrates, acceleration, etc. now. At home I've got a very sturdy, fairly light weight,...
