Come on now guys! 147 views and no replies. ValeryAnn, you're a gorgeous girl with great lips. You leek very comfortable in front of the camera. I just can't get over how overexposed most of these pictures are! Was this intentional? If I had to choose one out of the bunch it would be #4. You've got some great shots in your portfolio. These look out of place next to those.

Mike

Either a small MP camera or poor exposure/saturation in my opinion.

I have to agree with the others here, Valery. While the poses and makeup are terrific (great work by you), the resulting images look too over-Photoshopped to my eye. Seems like the sharpening and other post-production processing is way over the top, in my opinion. I'd be interested to see one of the straight-out-of-the-camera images to see where things went awry. The Olympus used should have had good enough resolution, so I am pretty sure it happened in the imaging software.

Just my opinion on it,
Dave

I agree as well....the images are too over-exposed looking. So, I pulled a couple into adobe and softened them...The one head-shot of me with the shine on my face is caused from the lighting shining off the make up - the make up was made to give a "shine" effect, and is difficult to soften up on that one. I had a print made of that, and looks softer in the print.
Do you think these looks any better?

Well ... nope, not really. Sorry about that. On my monitor they just look like the contrast has been dropped on them now, which makes them look flatter but doesn't really fix the initial problems. I hope that doesn't come across badly here in writing. As I noted, I like a lot of what is going on within the borders of the images (barring a couple of harsh crops). You did very well on your part. Just that the final frames don't match your efforts.

Sincerely,
Dave

Thank you. No, I do not take offence at all - I welcome your advise
The photographer was a lot of fun to work with... but he changed the lighting around a lot while experimenting... so, I think that is what went wrong with this shoot. I am shooting with him again some time after my Phoenix shoot, and he is going to try some different lighting.

Good! I always am concerned that the advice may come off too bluntly or that feeling will be hurt. Hard to capture inflections and voice tones when typing after all. But the critiquing process is often essential to growth and a vital part in the photographic journey to me, so we get by the best we can here.

I hope the next shoot goes great!

I agree - I feel that crituing is a part of learning in this feild. I never take any of that personally. I am also a waitress in a sports bar, and because I am a blond with large boobs and a petite built I get greif from people in that area LOL, mostly from the women! But even that, I never become offended. I'm pretty laid back and try to learn from every thing.

Ahh ... that works out well since I usually give grief to brunette, small-chested, tall waitresses ... lol

Seriously though, that's a great attitude to have that will get you far.

Keep at it!
