Not knowing what your goal was I'll just tell you what I see. You have strong diagonals going and that's good. However the shadow from her arm is so strong it almost looks like part of her face was cut off. I like the hair going everywhere because this is a casual shot. Her face has very little make-up so it is not "glamourous' but it is pretty and casual. I'm not sure I care for the earring but it is more a matter of I don't know if it works with her entire outfit because all I see is a white blouse. It does draw attention away and that's not good. I think overall you did well.

Thanks Mike. That is the kind of info I always appreciate. And, as I am always happy to see the images that you post, it is even more appreciated from you. Thank you again and please always be brutally honest in your opinions of my work. I hope to have some better work to post later today.

It's a good portrait showing a beautiful face. The facial tilt is just about perfect with a natural look. Too often that tilt is too extreme, giving an unnatural look, but you nailed it. The lighting is good, as is the color, though the might be a bit too much red saturation, but that could be monitor differences.

The only real problem I see is the arm. If the crop were wider so that more of the arm showed, it might have worked. But as is, the 'slivers' of bicep and forearm are distracting.

Thanks Doug. After looking at the image again with your comments about the arm in mind I have to agree with you toally. I actually liked it that way originally but I do see the distraction as well now. Thank you very much for commenting on it and in helping me to learn. That is exactly why I like this forum.

I think the other comments are good and fiarly on target. I do think you'd be wise to use Photoshop to smooth out the face a bit to get rid of the too sharp capture of the skin. You can use the snapshot technique that Rolando details in one of his articles on GG to easily do this.
Cheers,
rfs
