Just another glamour shot?

Two light set up. Eclipse umbrella softbox 8' up and to my right and rectangular softbox 6' up and pointing toward the ceiling and used as bounce flash to my left. Black scarf diffuser with the eyes and lips sharpened in photoshop.

The beautuiful and talented model is Lesta, who came down from Iowa for the weeknd. She was also the make up artist.

Lovely, lovely lady; nice photography, too.

But aren't coiled white cords on phones a relatively new touch?

You're right the coiled cord isn't a 1940's period piece. Neither is the touch tone phone it's attached too. I think I can fix the cord problem but I'll have to keep the front of the photn away from the cameras eye.

Thanks for your comments.

I think it is a very good portrait. It is soft and very compelling. But I don't see it as 1940's style. Uually the lighting would have been much more dramatic with more shadow play. This shot is basically soft and fairly flat. So great 2000's shot, but not so great 1940's shot.
Cheers,
rfs

I think you're right in that it contains to many contemporay features to be considered the 40's genre.
