Took these a couple a afternoons ago in a local canyon. Any hints, tips, tricks and comments would be appreciated.

I like them! I'm not a huge fan of "upside down" pictures--but I like what you've captured in these. I think you're definitely headed in the right direction, if the direction you want to go is to take beautiful pictures of beautiful women! Your use of color in these is really nice. I can't wait to get outside again. Thanks for sharing.

I think both pix suffer from TMFF (too much fill flash). Take a look at the work of JT Smith for inspirational images using just sunlight (Rick Hughes, too!). I think you could have accomplished something more natural and soft with a reflective surface instead of flash.

That said, of course, if you do choose to use flash, I'd turn it down a bit. In the top image, even though it is clear that the sunlight is behind and above your model, the foreground flowers are brighter than the background, and there is that tell-tale shadow on her right shoulder, too.

The second image looks like she has allergies or a bad cold. Her eyes are red and she's clinching her teeth.

Pretty girl, though -- I think you have a lot of good shots still left in her!

kind of input I was looking for. Next time I'll try knocking down the FEC or maybe just go with a reflector. Again thanks for the input.

Nicely done. My only comment would be in the second photo to tilt her head slightly so you"re not shooting up her nostril.
