Please be patient to me. I'm from Romania and I begin working with lights two months ago. I think the highlight on her right arm is wrong, please tell me your opinion. All inputs will be appreciated. Thanks.

It is hard to tell, the image is small. Highlight on arms can help pop the image from the background

I guess it is how you define 'wrong'. If you like it then it is not wrong. If you are asking us as viewers if we see something wrong, then I see a potential problem/ The highlight is strong enough that it forms a white line on the edge of the highlight that carries my eye away from the model's face. It is compounded because it is part of an angle or triangle. So that is a lot going on away from the point of interest that should be your model's face. Keep shooting and keep posting.

In this image there is a slight highlight on an angled arm but the angle leads right to the model's face.

The highlight seems too strong. You lost the details of the skin.
The picture is quite small on my screen.

The right arm lighting seems off to me. The skin tone seems much darker than her face and left arm. The highlight along the edge of the right arm seems to be coming from a light placed too low. It unbalances the image for me.

I'd move the light around in front of her somewhat and raise it up a bit, say just above shoulder level.

On second thought, I'd be tempted to put the light directly behind her to provide some hair separation, and use a reflector or have her turn slightly to her left to put light back on that arm. There is some hair separation from the background, but if her hair is really that red, I'd show it off.

I have to agree with the others. It's difficult to critique small images. The bigger the better, at least 600 pixels high.

Thanks, Daniel. I'm sorry for such small picture, but I thought is a limitation for posting.

The shot looks fine! Maybe you could diffuse the sidelight next time with some filter over the light, like muslin or opaque fabric? Mike Duffy
