Some of you have seen me post my bodypaint work here before. I have shot most of it against a plain, black background to bring out the metallic color and shine. But I tried something new with model Mary Beth the other day. I put her in a normal household setting--but painted totally gold. Let me know what you think. More images at my site:

Your 'normal' household setting seems to have a lot of liquor on the counter.

My guess is there aren't many children running around this household.

LOL

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Got me....it was her house...and I gave her a hard time about all the bottles, too. She swears they belong to her roommates

I have seen some of these body paint images before and I find them to be interesting and almost like statues. But I would like to know what kind of paint is used that washes off without a lot of scrubbing or irritating the skin.

Here's my uneducated opinion. I say uneducated because I have not tried that which you so nobly have done. This concept to me finds it's genesis in the James Bond films. When people found out if you paint someone (with that which was available at the time) and do not leave exposed flesh somewhere on the model damage can occur. Some of that is of course myth from the movie but parts of it come from what was used in that day, ie. bad things happened during tests. All that aside what sells an image like these is you need to show that the skin is not skin. I see way too many pores and bumps and stuff because your image is so sharp. The farther away you are the better the image looks. I thought your work against black was better but you had panties which blew the whole concept of nude metallic image. All this said, I love the fact that you are sticking with this. That you are perfecting it and that you gave us a chance to see some 'behind the scenes, near the kitchen bar images'. Keep this up you are getting closer to perfecting this than 95% of us will ever do,

Mike

I don't have a painted model so here's Steph

I liked the metallic models to begin with, but I like the household setting idea better. (BTW - I ordered the materials, but haven't found the time to shoot myself. Thanks for the info. I WILL post if I ever get the time and a willing model.)

Have you tried converting to b/w and boosting the contrast a bit? Just a thought.

Hey Jim,

It's actually quite easy to get the look. Send me an e-mail at indirectimage@yahoo.com and I'll send you all the directions.
