James, Can't say that I have a preference one over the other, as I guess it would be decided by what I intended to use it for and how it would be displayed. I guess my preference that not withstanding would be #1, for better background seperation for the contrast. Think maybe #2 could be tweeked to help that though, and then my oppinion might change. How 'bout some camera/ light data? Is this with your new picture taker? Thanks for sharing, George

Did you notice in the second image, the copyright symbol actually looks to be part of the necklace, like a pendant?

No Photo_guy I did not catch that! But when I print these out they will not have my © on there.

762Nato, I want one of these to go into my portfolio and I'm leaning towards the blue one. Camera: 10D + 70-200 2.8 Light 1 umbrella in front, 1 hair light with snoot.

James

The blue one is better but it is avtually close to purple. I'd try and go more blue. Also her skin is smoother in this one than the black and white. Well done, hope school is going well.

Thank you Mike. School is going well, I will be done in December and I believe fellow GG member and CSUF student Chris Kern will be as well. If all things go well I also will be starting an internship in the summer at a small local paper. ( The Los Angeles Times ).

I can't wait till December. Working on finding an internship for the summer as well - although i'm looking more for the commercial side of photography rather than Photo J. Got a couple offers, just need to see what works with my scheduling.

When school ends, finally I will have some free time to shoot more and focus on my photography - I know James feels the same.

I think I can vouch for James as well as myself - School Sucks. I learn more here on GG than in class. LOL... Awwh the institution of photography and education.

We may not have a solid portfolio due to schooling but at least we will have a nice peice of paper LOL

i got to agree about school...i got more solid input from people on GG then the teachers at school too...something else I have noticed...the students with the best portfolios are not always the best photographers...rather thay are the students with $$$ to burn...lets face it...its hard to compete with students who can pay for MUAs, models, and all the extra film... Yep, it's a shame he couldn't get a job with a reputable paper like the San Bernadino County Sun.
