Well, here it goes, my first posting asking for reviews. I'm considering adding this one to my book and want to know what some of you guys think before I do.

Photo shot at the Tabby Ruins in St Marys, GA of Jessa. Natural light, Canon 10D w/a Canon USM II 28-105 lens, at f4.0, 1/60, ISO 100, in sRGB mode. Later in Photoshop I selected her bikini and made a new layer of it. Then I used a technique I picked up to make the rest of it B&W. I like it, except I think the skin on her face and her left knee are overexposed. I'm trying to artsy up my book a little.

I'd love hear some thoughts from the gallery. Thank you so much for your help.

I believe the face and the shoulder chest area are too hot. I get almost no separation on the shoulder so it becomes a mass not a shoulder. I like what you were thinking but I do not see it as one of your best. Maybe work the same technique on another image that has more tonal range. JMHO which based upon today's market is worth less than it was, well most any day.

Mike,
On my monitor the upper body and face are too hot. No detail on the shoulder, chest and lower face. I'm not sure I would use this one in your book. Hope that helps.

Mike,

Well...one dose of tough love coming up....

No...no...and no again....to start with the loss of detail in the face kills it from the get go....then the shoes...not that they are bad shoes but the whole setup gives a look of she needed to visit mother nature and someone called her as she headed off to handle things....the color swimsuit in a b&w image is considered gimmicky (at least from what I was told) and you want your book to show the best you are...not how good you are at photoshop..the photoshop should be subtle if even able to be noticed..with her arm the way it is it takes away from any shape she might have as you follow the body line down it hides where the indent of her stomach would be and makes her look like it goes streight down and giving no curves other than the back one...

I'd mark this one up as a learning expierence and try again...

Mike,

Even when you deliver a blow, you still manage to do it with grace. I appreciate your feedback.

Thanks for your input. I'm probably not going to add this one to my book.

Rick,

I love you too! I have most of the same opinions except for the color and B&W thing. Sometimes I get asked for it. Sometimes I see it on this site and in this forum. Is it really gimmicky? Should I stay away from it? I was looking to add something like this to my book to show that I could do it. Is that whole concept a waste of time
