Here is a photo of Renee taken at one of the Rolando's Texas workshops. Several of us were playing with window light and a reflector.

So I'm looking mosting for comments on what worked or didn't work with the lighting.

Cheers,
rfs

I think for the mood and tone of the image the lighting is dead on. I wouldn't call it perfect, but I'd say damn close.

Oi!

What an interesting mess you have here! I'm sorry if that sounds harsh or whatever but from what I see, that's what you've got. Mainly I see color and lighting issues. The lighting was obviously everywhere, but here's where it affected your color;

A) Her tummy is quite red,
B) Her chest is very white,
C) Underarm is white and grey
D) Hands look dull grey and dead
E) Neck under chin is gone to black
F) her face fades from pale at the top of forehead to supertanned (Dark) at chin

How would you fix that or work it better? I have no idea. But I'll be watching here to see what people suggest. One thing I might have tried is move her further from the window about 6 inches.

Otherwise, what I would have done differently is include all her fingers and more leg (just above the knee) or include the increased amount of knee while cropping mid forearm.

It's certainly not a bad shot, might work better on B&W.

Window light is what was there! This is what the model looked like in that light. I did want to include more fingers, but I didn't have them in the shot unfortunately. Do you like the lighting effect on this one better?

or this one?

I totally hear you about the lighting issue. These two are much brighter but as a result are blown out in the highlights. A bounce might hvae helped bring up the dark side better to reduce the blowout on the side, but it's also about getting what you envisioned at the time.

Cheers!

If it works - don't fix it.

Nice work
