Hey Kevin! Welcome to the game. You're in for a bumpy, but exciting ride if you go for the distance!
Of the shots you posted the first thing I would recommend you work on is focus. These images have a softness that I don't think can be attributed to an artistic intent, they just feel out of focus to a point. If you used photoshop or something to attempt to soften them, you've done something wrong! Not enough of the details have remained to make it look right.
The other thing is posing and framing. Some poses work better with some framings and the only way to get those down is to work on them. Don't let this aspect intimidate you, it's something that has been a constant evolution for 150+ years...Surf the net and study images that you find out there in magazines and posters and such and see what they do. Pick up or go through some books that review photography through the last 150 years and see how posing and framing was done in the late 1800s, 1920s and 1950s to see how different things are these days compared to back then and also note how similar things are even after all this time.
The fact that you're shooting and posting shows a serious interest on your part. The only way to get better is to shoot more. The only way to know if you're improving is to post more. No one here is will have a final answer for you, ever. They can only provide insight and experience. And let me tell you, some of them have phenomenal experience. Be prepared for some honest opinions that may not jive with your own and be aware that some of them could cut pretty deep. Just remember that if someone is commenting, it's because they want to help make you a photographer, not to become your enemy.
Welcome to the boards! Now get shooting!
