Sophie is new to modeling, so it was fun for us work together on these concepts. Yes, I did do a lot of Photoshop processing to some of the images in an attempt to make them look more sureal and graphic. For me this is an ongoing journey to find a "look" that excites me. Comments welcome.

Nice!

#1 & 3 get my vote. Her left hand looks a bit odd in #3, but it's still quite well done.

The sky looks great and I think you hit the mark for something unique and surreal.

The setup and lighting for this shot was embarrasingly simple ... Nikon D700 with a Nikkor 28-70 f2.8 lens set at the widest and maximum aperture (28mm @ f2.8). Since this shot was taken about 30 minutes before sunset, I used my SB-800 mounted on a Stroboframe to add fill light on the model. That's everything.

In Adobe Camera Raw I increased the saturation of the blue sky and decreased the sky's lumanance. In Photoshop I pumped up the contrast of the sky to make the clouds whiter and more dramatic. I finished the image by adding a Diffused Glow in an adjustment layer and masked off everything except the model, then lowered the opacity of the glow layer until it looked satisfying to me.

Now it's your turn to try it LOL

Spectactular images, sir. Very intense, and a beautiful model.

But I'm not sure "surreal" applies. One on-line source defines it as "characterized by fantastic imagery and incongruous juxtapositions;" another as ": marked by the intense irrational reality of a dream." The perspective and intense color in your second image approach that, but only approach it.

But that's just my opinion.

Thanks for sharing.

Hey professor, thanks for the definition. You're right, it's not really "sureal" ... so I guess I'll just have to follow Tracer's lead and call it "one of those graphic things." LOL
