Thanks for the C&C everyone. The reason I used a shorter lens than the majority of you would recommend is that the studio I use isn't large enough for me to use a longer lens.

I am just tossing out ideas. How much space is there in that room? I am about 11 feet from the subject and have about 3 to 4 feet behind the subject. When I use the 28-105MM I am pleased with a head and shoulder, and with a bit of cropping I can get a head shot with no problem, but as I said, I use the 75-200 for tighter head shots.

You have less than 15 feet then in the room you are using? Is your back against the wall? I have had to do that on occasion, Is there a way you can rearrange the room so you will have a doorway behind you? You can stand just outside the door and gain some room,

As I say, just tossing out ideas that might work in a cramped room.

Thanks for the suggestions. The lens I have are; 50, 85, 24-70, and an 80-300. I might try the 80-300 the next time I shoot head shots. It can't hurt to try and see if that lens will work.
