Go ahead and leave it in. For all anyone looking at the picture would think, she is under a small beach umbrella, which is appropriate for the scene, not a piece of photographic equipment. It might bug you, but no one else will give it a second thought. The problem with the edited shot is that the selection job makes it look like her lower body was cut and pasted onto the sand. The change in lighting from her legs to the immediately adjacent sand is abrupt and unnatural.
