Alright, I know that this particular shot is not glamour or even of a model, but I would like everyone's opinion on it. I know that there are issues with it but I want to know what everyone else sees in it.

Also, please, only respond if you have constructive and helpful things to say about it...not destructive and mean things.

I appreciate your input on this shot...

I would consider cropping the bottom 20% off, and perhaps the top 10%.

Yes, I tend to agree...there is too much sky and foreground...

I forgot to mention that the only editing done to this shot was resize for the web and file info edited. This is the exact crop that came from the camera. I tend to add extra space around the subject to allow for future cropping in ps for prints and what not...but I do agree with you completely RobArtLyn, the crop needs to be fixed

I think the cropping is ok. I would remove that light on the bottom right. My eye is drawn to that light.

I think I would remove the distracting light in the bottom right like the previous post mentions ... then I would consider adding a reflection of the skyline in the black space at the bottom so it looked like there was water in the foreground.

To me, the first thing I notice is the buildings are just...centered. I'd cut off maybe 1/3 of the shadowed foreground and go from there, perhaps experiment with bringing out the brightness of the the buildings to give them some 'pop.' And finally, as was mentioned earlier, I'd get rid of that streetlight in the lower right as it's a distraction.

=)

I tend to agree with several who have said to cut off the top and bottom space to take out some distraction.

Mine may be cut off a bit too much but I had to do it for symmetry. :/

Jeff: I think I would like yours with a little more room above. Seems cramped.

I definitely agree. I don't want to turn this into a critique of my image instead of the OP's but I definitely did crop it extremely close! The reason I did it, however was because I ran out of water. If I loosened up the crop any more I would get land in front of the lake. I could have cropped just the top looser but it not being symmetrical would have driven me insane.
