I recently had the opportunity to shot in a studio (first time ever). I applied a couple filters from NIK (CEP 3.0). Here are a few photos for critique. Thanks to all.

#1 has the most potential in my view. But with the centered image, the photo is weakened. I also think the contrast is off and their is a bit of a color cast. Here is an example of one way to change the look and feel of the photo:

The left photo is re-cropped after I added space on the left. I then used CEP to neutralize the whites and then used Pro Contrast to pump the contrast a bit. The right photo is the original. The other thing that needs to be done is, when taking the photo, to have the model suck in her tummy a bit.

Cheers,
rfs

I like the changes you made. What CEP plugin did you use to neutralize the whites? Also, who makes Pro Contrast?
Thanks for the great tips!

CEP = Nik Color EFX Pro -- which is a whole bunch of effects, including 2 called "White Neutral" and "Pro Contrast"

Great, That's the one I have (the complete package). I'll look for those. Thanks!

Both the "white neutralizer" and the "pro contrast" filters are part of the full CEP 3.0 plugin suite. I believe CEP is also sold in different bundles where fewer of the filters are available. However, in my view, the full suite is the only way to go since many of the best filters that I use all the time are in that suite. Here is a check list from their site detailing which filters are in each sub-set as opposed to the full suite:

http://www.niksoftware.com/colorefex..._filters.shtml

The ones with * are the new ones for CEP 3 and they are some of the best of all the filters. I've been using the product for many years and have always found them very powerful. Now with the addition of the Control Point technology, they are even more powerful.

Cheers,
rfs

Yes, I purchased the full suite but have only played with a couple of the filters. I will continue experimenting.
