I'd suggest that the shot would be improved if her eyes were completely visible and the lighting was less direct -- although you did a great job of evenly lighting her with the hat, I think some shadow may have given her face more depth and less of a wide look. I also think that the color of the hat is wrong for the image. It clashes with the red background and is so big and bright, it becomes as much the subject as Carrie.

That said, all of this is my opnion on more the composition really...which is a matter of taste.

Good job. Ring flash eliminates the shadow under the brim. Beautiful skin tones. While the eyes are cut off, you still have the catch lights. We can all nit pick about cropping for effect, but this is great.
