Test shoot with a young woman I met in a video store. Please take a look and give me some C&C.

Shooting directly into the shoulder, using a low camera angle, and a using a short focal length, will make the arm to look much larger. This lady is not heavy, but appears so, because of the facts I mentioned.

In addition to BenE's right on remarks, you also have to watch certain types of smiles as they can cause creases, indentations, etc that don't always work. I usually call this over smiling and many models have a problem with it. The solution is to have them not smile as much. Often a smile can be very subtle and is more about the eyes than the mouth. Experiment with different smiles and you'll see what I mean.

Above are a few examples from over smile to subtle.

Thanks RFS...I truly never considered that, but I will be more observant in the future.

What strikes me is the way the lighting has made her cheek appear to sag. In this shot (it's in part due to the "powerful" smile RFS mentioned) her chin appears to jut out rather harshly from very rounded cheeks. I think this would be corrected first by turning slightly more toward the camera to show more of the far cheek (de-emphasizing the chin's profile) and second by reducing the shadow under her near cheek (especially the shadow under her apples toward her chin).

RFS posted several shots that all show tilts that are less "chin prominent" above.

It's a nice shot -- I like it. Just some thoughts for you.
