Nice image and lit well, but just not very dramatic, speaking for just for me, the image lacks interest.

thanks for sharing,
Mike

What he said. The photo looks nice but it's missing the "kick" I've seen in some of your work.

Just my 2 pennies,
JW

You do terrific work. Only improvement would be to have her holding a Les Paul Gibson! Just kidding. Outstanding shot, wish I had 1/4 the talent.

I liked your closeup shot of her better. In this one, the overhead hairlight may be a bit too hot -- as is her forearm which is reflecting your main light.

I suppose you mean holding one of his guitars rather than holding him. 8>)
Maybe he would like it the other way.

You don't have any idea who Les Paul is do you.
ask the google gods, read a while then think about your answer.

As far as the photo. What comes to mind first is she dosesn't play. Then the fact that she is dammit pretty pops in.

someone who plays would not hold an electric guitar that way unless a photographer told them too.

hint WHERE IS THE STRAP?

she's beautiful but I can't believe a "player" would pose holding an axe that way.

[shrug]

this is Jennifer Daniels, a folk singer.

First of all, we were not trying to make the model look like a guitar player. Not all guitar images are about making a person look like a rock & roll performer or country guitar player. Try to think advertising, or artistic image, or simply a photo prop. We did not want the strap to be used because it would hide more of the model than we wanted it to.
Secondly, Les Paul was a guitar player from the 1940's and 1950's who was also a leading innovator in guitar and electronics design. Les Paul is also a brand name of guitars, which was named after the perfomer.
Now you can think of my answer. It was made as a slight bit of humor in reference to the model holding Les Paul the man rather than Les Paul the brand of guitar. I did not need to go to the Google gods to figure this one out.

Do you see any guitar players on these other photo samples where the guitar was used only as a prop?
Do you see any guitar straps being used?

Do I need to explain anything else to you before you assume something else?

Well I agree with PhotoAl, I wish that I could shoot something that well. Nice lighting and beautiful model.

Lee
