Please take a look at this pic and let me know if I am going in the right direction. I have old thick skin and do this for fun so please be honest, I'll only get better (after drying up the tears). There are other pics of Emilie (47 years old) posted in my port here.

Thanks in advance.

Exposure and tonality look good. I am currently working on getting my digital images to look like my film images.

As to model, I would suggest you really closely look at her and play up her strong points and minimize her weak points. "Weak" is a subjective term, but using the standards, women are soft, so soften the edges. curves etc.

I would avoid shooting the backs of her hands due to the large veins. Certainly don't cross light them. Ice water and/holding above her head will shrink them.

As she is not a young girl, don't have her pull her chin in and down and back. It create more lines on her neck. Don't furrow her brow. She has fairly strong lines in her face, so flatter lighting or more fill would minimize those lines.

The straight arm minimizes her waste. She has a great body and "goes in" at the waste, so don't hide that. That is part of her curves.

I am kinda wondering why she has her hand in her underwear? It is not like she was just hooking her thumbs in her jeans and she doesn't seem to be reacting to the touch.

I hope these comments were helpful. Shoot her again. I want to.

Thank you for your indepth review. Lots of good points which I will certainly put to use next time I shoot with Emilie.

Good tip on not cross lighting the hands, she does have prominent veins in the hands.

Thanks again,

Jim
