I posted an earlier photo of this model. She's a big Mustang fan so I asked her to bring along some Mustang apparel. The hat she brought was bright red and seemed to overpower the photo. Decided to go greyscale instead of scrapping the photo. C&C always welcome.

In my view, it is too dark, and needs a boost to the contrast. I think you can punch it up with a bit of curves manipulation in Photoshop. Also need some background separation.

Ok..I gave it a boost...any improvement? Not sure how to improve background seperation though. Thanks!

I think it does look better. But you have to be the ultimate judge of this sort of change. I put them side by side in a screen shot and I think your 2nd try on the right has more pop to it. What do you think?



Now if you had a background light to give the background separation it would be even better.

I agree...I never noticed it until your comment and then looking at the 2 side by side. Hopefully I will pick up that eye for detail and improvement with more experience. Thanks again!
