I decided to try some new lighting techniques with my good friend Tracy. As you might expect ... some of it worked, some of it didn't. The good news -- I know more about what doesn't work ... and we got a few nice images for her portfolio. Comments and suggestions welcome.

On Photo 1, what is the white thing growing out of her head? Would the photo not work better with that cloned out? I like photo #3 best. Photo #2 was a close second, but I'm not sure the bottles showing on the left are not a bit too much. (wow - double negative )

My favorite is #2. Its worthy of a Crown Royal magazine spot. The bottle on the left is a little distracting...at first glance I thought she was holding it.

All three of them have a different kind of look to them as if they might show a little more contrast and color. I am not distracted by images that show a flower in the models hair that matches the flowers on her outfit and a blurred out bottle along with the other blurred background props do not distract me either since it is the model that is in focus.

Well, I wish I had friends like that. I'm working on a pint of Crown as I write this post and can appreciate photo #2. But, to my slightly drunken eye, I would suggest you get a color wheel or some books on color. Photo #1 and #3 would have probably have had more impact if you had either went with a monochrome scheme or compliment color between costume and back ground. If youi had the costume on photo #1 with the background of Photo #3, I think you would have had a better image. But, i've been drinkin, and don't really know dooky about anything.
