I didn't suggest this pose. I even asked "is that safe?" when she did it. Even now, I'm not completely sure I should have let her. But I think the result is striking. What do you think?

I was looking at this other site the other day and I saw a model perched on the edge of a roof of a tall hotel. The ledge was only like 2 ft wide. She had this big flowing cape on and all I could think was what would happen if a gust of wind came up ? I am not sure of the location of that shot but I have been on many roofs here in FL and the wind can blow anytime.

I don't think I could do a shoot like that.

I think she has lovely, lovely eyes. I think that the image might have more impact cropped closer, to place her face, the dagger, and perhaps her hands in the frame.

As for danger, I don't think the image would have the same attraction if she were wearing safety glasses. Besides, I'm afraid on my screen your dagger looks to be single edged, with the sharp edge away from her skin. Indeed, to me, the lighting makes it look almost conical, not sharpened. My eyes (and monitor) are pretty poor, but the shape of the high-light isn't what I'd visually interpret as a sharp edged blade.

And besides, isn't your art worth a little bloodshed?

I can assure you that the knife is double-edged (have to have a permit for it!), but your point is well made.

I'll try cropping it tighter - this was a quick edit from a shoot the night before - thanks for the suggestion.

And yes, she has gorgeous eyes - I'll post a couple more from this shoot when I get a chance.

I think the title of the post is significant.

"Letting models..." as if it's the model's idea. Mind you, I'm not inferring you suggested it to her, but having the knife handy certainly didn't preclude this or similar poses.

I've had models do things I would never have suggested. When you're an 18 or 20 year old model, you think you are invincible, and future consequences just don't exist.

But I'm old enough to get very nervous when I put a model into any situation where I'm not absolutely sure there's little potential for harm.

A picture just ain't worth somebody getting hurt.

But that's just my opinion.
